How to Reset Your Email Login Password via cPanel

If you've forgotten your email login password or need to reset it for security reasons, you can easily do so through cPanel. This guide will walk you through the steps to reset your email account password.

Step 1: Log In to cPanel

  1. Access cPanel: Open your web browser and go to your cPanel login page. This can usually be accessed by typing http://yourdomain.com/cpanel or http://cpanel.yourdomain.com into your browser’s address bar, where "yourdomain.com" is your website's URL.
  2. Enter Your Credentials: Input your cPanel username and password. If you've forgotten these details, you might need to contact your hosting provider or refer to the welcome email that was sent to you when you first signed up.

Step 2: Navigate to Email Accounts

  1. Open Email Section: Once logged into cPanel, locate the “Email” section and click on “Email Accounts.”

Step 3: Reset Password

  1. Select Your Email Account: In the Email Accounts dashboard, you will see a list of email addresses associated with your account. Find the email address for which you want to reset the password.
  2. Change Password: Next to the email address, click on “Manage” or “Password and Authentication” (the exact wording can vary based on your cPanel version).
  3. Enter New Password: You will be prompted to enter a new password. Make sure it’s strong and secure, ideally using a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols.
  4. Save Changes: After entering your new password, click on “Save” or “Update Password” to apply the changes.

Step 4: Test the New Password

  1. Log Out and Log Back In: It's a good practice to log out of cPanel and test your new email password to ensure everything is working correctly.
  2. Access Webmail: You can check the functionality by logging into your Webmail directly at http://yourdomain.com/webmail or through an email client.

Additional Tips

  • Password Strength: Consider using a password manager to generate and store a strong password.
  • Regular Updates: Regularly update your passwords to enhance security.
  • Secure Connection: Always ensure you are using a secure connection (https) when accessing your cPanel and webmail.
