Service Direction
This document outlines how bandwidth and routing are managed for iCoreHosting VPS, Dedicated Server, and Colocation services across CJ1 Cyberjaya, AIMS Kuala Lumpur, JBIX Johor Bahru, and future facilities. These policies follow long-established operational standards in our production environment and are intended to provide clarity, stability, and consistency for all clients.
Service Transparency
The practices described here reflect how our network has been operating for many years. This documentation ensures that clients clearly understand domestic and international routing behaviour, available connectivity options, and responsible use expectations.
1. Our Core Commitments
Reliability
Multiple upstream carriers and redundant routing ensure consistent service availability.
Availability
Continuous monitoring and proactive failover support stable operations across all datacenters.
Accountability
Transparent routing behaviour and clear bandwidth practices.
Scalability
Additional connectivity options available to support evolving business needs.
Security
Active filtering, abuse mitigation, and routing integrity protection.
Agility
Real-time response to global routing conditions and network changes.
2. Bandwidth Structure
2.1 Domestic Bandwidth – Full Speed Based on Ordered Plan
Domestic traffic within Malaysia operates at full speed based on the client’s purchased plan. Connectivity is optimized across major carriers including TM, Time, Maxis, Digi, and Celcom.
2.2 International Bandwidth
International traffic is delivered through a shared global pool optimized for stable and consistent general usage. Performance may vary based on global routing conditions, foreign ISP behaviour, cross-border filtering, and international congestion.
This level of connectivity is suitable for websites, email, remote administration, system access, and general business operations.
- Performance may differ from domestic speeds
- Foreign-side shaping and filtering may apply
- China traffic may be influenced by the Great Firewall
- VPN / Proxy / Tunneling usage is prohibited
2.3 China Standard Route
All services include standard routing to Mainland China via regular global transit paths.
- Best-effort delivery
- Subject to China-side filtering and restrictions
2.4 China Premium Route Option
For businesses that rely heavily on connectivity to Mainland China, an Premium route option is available to provide smoother transit and improved stability.
- Premium CN2 / CT / CU routing
- Reduced latency
- Improved packet delivery across GFW
- 12-month minimum term
2.5 International Performance Options
For clients with region-specific needs or consistent overseas traffic demands, additional international performance configurations are available. These are designed for workloads that require predictable cross-border throughput and stable global performance.
- Reserved international capacity for consistent delivery
- Region-focused routing options for specific markets
- 12-month minimum term (in line with international carrier provisioning requirements)
Contact us for suitable connectivity arrangements tailored to your operations.
2.6 When Do I Need International Performance Options?
Standard international routing is ideal for general operations such as web access, email, remote access, and business system usage. Because global routing and foreign ISP policies may vary, sustained overseas performance-sensitive workloads may require a more specialized routing configuration.
These options may be beneficial if your operations involve:
- Frequent overseas visitors or users
- Applications primarily used outside Malaysia
- Large or continuous cross-border data transfers
- API, SaaS, ERP, CRM integrations with foreign regions
- China-focused enterprise applications
- International RDP, collaboration, or file exchange workflows
When long-term consistency and predictable overseas performance become important to your business, specialized international connectivity configurations can help ensure stable results.
3. Security
- Outbound attacks, spam, or malware will activate automatic mitigation.
- Clients are responsible for securing their OS, applications, and access credentials.
- VPN / Proxy / Tunneling services are strictly prohibited.
- Abnormal routing behaviours may trigger temporary international traffic controls.
- All datacenters continuously monitor routing integrity and traffic anomalies.
4. Common Mistakes
- Expecting overseas speed to match domestic throughput
- Using server as VPN/Proxy exit nodes
- Running large international backups during peak hours
- Ignoring malware that generates uncontrolled traffic
- Expecting China connectivity to behave like Malaysia traffic
5. Checklist
- Is your primary audience located in Malaysia?
- Do you have consistent overseas workloads?
- Do you require smoother or region-targeted routing?
- Do you operate systems that depend on stable cross-border API usage?
- Is China connectivity a core requirement?
- Is your server secure and monitored?
