These practices have long been active within our system — this updated article is provided to enhance transparency and client understanding.

1. Bandwidth Structure

1.1 Domestic Bandwidth – Full Speed

All VPS and Dedicated Server plans include full-speed domestic bandwidth routed through major Malaysian ISPs including TM, Time, Maxis, Celcom, and Digi. Domestic routes are consistently the fastest and are ideal for websites, ERP systems, SaaS platforms, and Malaysia-focused workloads.

1.2 International Bandwidth – Minimum Guaranteed

Each VPS and Dedicated Server plan includes a minimum guaranteed international bandwidth allocation. Exact allocation varies by plan tier.

• Stable baseline for global users accessing your server.
• Routing quality depends on multiple factors, including:
  - overseas ISP congestion
  - global peering conditions
  - routing paths and distance
  - foreign network shaping or firewall impact
• Even if iCoreHosting provides full bandwidth on our side, the remote ISP may still impose limitations due to their own capacity or network policies.
• Servers may NOT be used as VPN exit nodes, proxy tunnels, or traffic-routing gateways.

1.3 Best-Effort International Burst

Under normal global conditions, international traffic may temporarily exceed the guaranteed minimum. This burst is based on best-effort and not guaranteed.

• Short-term transfers
• Temporary overseas traffic spikes
• Cloud updates and global application synchronization

1.4 Fair-Use Optimization (FUP)

International traffic may enter optimization when:

• Usage remains abnormally high over long periods
• Traffic resembles global CDN export or data pumping
• A single server impacts international routing quality for others
• VPN / Proxy / Tunneling activities are strictly prohibited and will trigger FUP immediately.

Domestic bandwidth is never affected by FUP.

1.5 China Premium Route (Optional)

For customers serving Mainland China users, we offer a specialized China Premium Route providing:

• CN2 / China Telecom premium routing
• China Unicom optimized routes
• Lower latency & higher throughput
• Better connection stability through the Great Firewall

1.6 International Bandwidth Upgrade Options

Available upgrade packages include:

• Dedicated International Bandwidth (Guaranteed Mbps)
• High-Burst Shared International Bandwidth
• Premium Peering Routes
• China Premium Route

1.7 Bandwidth Upgrade Term Requirement (12 Months Minimum)

iCoreHosting does not provide short-term or monthly international bandwidth upgrades. All upgrade packages—such as dedicated international bandwidth, premium routes, China Premium Route, or regional optimized routing—require a minimum commitment of 12 months.

• No short-term or month-to-month upgrades
• Upgrades are billed as annual add-ons
• Long-term commitments ensure stable upstream provisioning, consistent routing quality, and reliable bandwidth planning across all datacenters

2. Security Considerations

• Outbound attacks, spam, or malware will trigger automatic mitigation.
• Users must secure their operating system, applications, and configurations.
• VPN, Proxy, Tunneling, or Traffic Relay services are strictly prohibited.
• Abnormal international spike may activate temporary traffic control.
• iCoreHosting actively monitors for traffic anomalies across all datacenters.

3. Common Mistakes

• Expecting international bandwidth to match domestic speeds
• Running heavy overseas backups during peak hours
• Using VPS/Dedicated Servers as VPN/Proxy/Tunnel endpoints
• Ignoring malware or botnet infections generating outbound spikes
• Hosting large-scale global distribution workloads on shared routes

4. Checklist

• Is your server mainly serving Malaysian users?
• Are your backups scheduled during non-peak hours?
• Is your VPS/DS secured and regularly patched?
• Do you actively monitor your international traffic usage?
• Do you need premium routing or dedicated international upgrade?
• Are you avoiding VPN/Proxy/Tunneling usage?
